Here you will find samples of my favorite creative writing works. My strength being in creating attractive worlds and compelling dialogue, I chose short stories and plays that best demonstrate those skills.
As an aspiring writer in the gaming industry, my goal is to contribute exciting narratives, dialogue, and cinematics to the development of fun, passionate projects. I believe games have amazing potential for crafting narratives in a unique way and would love nothing more than to take part in the advancement of games as a storytelling medium. As many of today's most successful titles have proven, a game whose story and gameplay work together in harmony is a game that attracts players and leaves them craving for more.
As a student at UC Santa Cruz I had the opportunity of taking courses of different writing arts, resulting in my writing of numerous works of varying styles, include theatrical plays, film scripts, poetry, and prose fiction. Writing in different styles has allowed me to develop the necessary skills for creating charming stories and characters while also giving me a better idea as to what works best for game storytelling.

A short story about a girl that awakens in an eerie inn filled with deceased people strangely having a very good time. As she watches the deceased dancing and singing to energetic music, she meets a knight that somewhat unravels the mystery of the inn. My goal with this piece was to create an evocative and perplexing world that completely entices the reader.
A short play (approx. 40 pages) about three brothers living on a farm in the middle ages whose life is turned upside down when they discover that they're all actually the sons of the recently deceased king, but only one can inherit the throne. My focus with this piece was on developing distinct, lively characters that the audience/reader could grow on. Each prince has a specific personality that contrasts the other two, allowing for some interesting conflict as they eventually fight for the crown.
A play about five warriors that meet during the Viking invasions of England by King Harald Hardrada of Norway. The story takes place around the historical Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066 where the viking army is almost completely obliterated, signaling the dawn of the end of the Viking Age. My intent was to develop strong characters by conveying their personality only through dialog between one another (all action/fighting is done off stage).
